Todd Berman, Founder and Managing Member
An avid lifelong sailor, Todd created the original indikon concept.
Todd was a salesman for Halsey Sailmakers between 1986 and 1992. He then served in multiple manufacturing leadership positions in the apparel and printing trades. He has subsequently developed a career in manufacturing, marine trades, academic environments and environmental legal services.Todd served for five years as adjunct faculty in the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, (RPI) Lally School of Management in Environmental Law and Policy. He has been an adjunct professor in Environmental Management and Policy as well as Environmental Law. He has been a senior Environmental Analyst at the law firm of Robinson & Cole since 1995.
Todd won a World Championship in the J/24 as crew in 1985, and more recently back-to-back North American Championships as helmsman in the J/105 in 1998 and 1999. He holds a Master Captain’s license through the United States Coast Guard for vessels up to 100 tons in all offshore waters. Todd has been a sailing and power boat instructor for North U for over 10 years, and is consistently one of the highest ranked instructors in the North U teaching reviews. He is well known for his innovative teaching style for recreational powerboat operation and for making boaters feel more comfortable and confident with their boats.
Todd is a 4-year member of the steering committee of the Environmental Policies Council for the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) and is active in his community serving on the Board of Governors for the Duck Island Yacht Club and the Killingworth, Connecticut Open Space Commission. Throughout his career, Todd has cultivated important boating relationships with colleagues operating in the Caribbean, Europe and throughout North America. He holds a BS Degree in Environmental Studies from Connecticut College and a Masters Degree in Management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Bryan Siewert – Engineering Partner
Bryan brings a considerable amount of engineering experience as a senior engineer for United Technologies (UTC) Research Center and holds several innovative patents for building function engineering.
He has 20 years experience in building and vehicle systems engineering, spanning all competencies from product/market strategies, technology research, product development and manufacturing. As a Program Manager in the United Technologies (UTC) Research Center in Hartford, Connecticut, he has been leading new product development for many UTC business units, including discovering market opportunities, and researching next-generation technologies for Power Generation, Human/Digital interfaces, space efficient building solution, HVAC systems, and fire suppression/life safety.
Brian has been awarded 5 building system patents, and has over 10 additional patents in process. Bryan holds a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Bryan is an avid and accomplished sailor.
Mike Keeler and John Pearson – Marketing Partners
Mike and John, owners of quickSilver Marketing, have extensive experience in global marketing, having assisted numerous blue-chip brands including UPS, PepsiCo, M&M/Mars, Tyco International and AT&T.
Mike Keeler has 20 years experience in every aspect of marketing communications, and has developed numerous global, multi-lingual campaigns for some of the best brands in the world. He has developed campaigns that integrate advertising, promotion, direct marketing and online elements. He holds a BA from Cornell University. Unfortunately, he is a land-lubber.
John Pearson has worked across all facets of creativity, including advertising agency creative director, TV and radio producer, copywriter, DM designer, strategic architect, even TV show host. He has sat in corner offices on Madison Avenue and on Main Street. A 1983 graduate of Connecticut College, John has extensive sailing experience from his youth misspent at the Jersey Shore and on Cape Cod.
Stuart Basseches, RA-Partner-Biproduct Architecture
Stuart is an architect and has been a partner at Biproduct since 1998, when he co-founded the office with graphic designer Judith Hudson. Their work ranges from architecture, interiors, furniture, and lighting, to graphic design, the focus of which is contemporary design and sustainability. Stuart’s work received a Colbert Foundation Grant for Emerging Artists, several Good Design Awards, an IDEA award, an Interior Design award, and the winning commission for the San Jose Veterans Memorial. Stuart received his Bachelor of Science in Art+ Design from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982 and his Masters of Architecture from Yale University in 1987.
Stuart’s previous experience ranges form work as a building designer for Richard Meier in Paris and New York, to partnership at Trust Collaborative Architects in New York prior to establishing Biproduct.
Stuart is interesting in incorporating sustainable materials and promoting renewable resource technologies into his newest projects, ground-up residential and commercial buildings and the renovations of historic landmarks.
Stuart is a life-long sailor who spent many summers blasting around in a Hobie Cat.
