Volvo Penta joins the indikon team

indikon is surging into 2013 with the news that Volvo Penta has joined Morrelli & Melvin, North Sails, and Hall Spars in pursuit of indikon’s vision of seamless “blended propulsion”.  Over the last two years, indikon has methodically brought together the worlds foremost brands in hull design, sails, spars and now engine propulsion with one mission in mind.  indikon’s team of brand partners is dedicated to taking your boating experience to a new level.  Go faster burning less fuel with a more comfortable ride.

Speed, Comfort, Efficiency.  indikon

Volvo Penta has been a global leader in marine engines since 1910.   They share indikon’s vision of more boating fun with less CO2 output with the cleanest burning and most reliable engines available today.  ISO 14001 certified and positioning for the future, Volvo is investing over a billion euro/yr to develop ultra modern environmental engine technology.  Volvo Penta’s core values are a perfect fit for indikon.  Furthermore, Volvo’s global reach ensures that indikon customers can get fast, efficient service anywhere on the planet.

Additionally, Volvo Penta’s smart accessories platform is the perfect partner for indikon to advance its ISIS system. Volvo’s Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) is Volvo Penta’s common electronic platform. Based on the same CAN-bus technology used in ships, planes and cars, EVC gives total integration, and thus is the perfect backbone for our ISIS technology.  Over the coming months, indikon’s engineering team will be working side by side with the engineers at Volvo and Morrelli & Melvin to continue to develop and deploy your next generation “coach” on using blended propulsion; ISIS.
